Golden Gate Bridge Coloring Page
Ways to Use This Coloring Page
Simple ideas for using this printable at home, school, libraries, or quiet creative time.
The Golden Gate Bridge stretches across choppy water with hills rising behind it and waves breaking on the rocks. Its towers are painted a shade called International Orange, chosen so the bridge stays visible through San Francisco’s heavy fog.
Stretch a string between two stacks of books and hang paper clips from it one at a time until it sags to the table. Double the string and repeat, then count how many more clips the thicker cable holds.
Grounded in Harvard's serve and return research
Follow one cable with your finger from the top of a tower down to the roadway. Where does it end? Why would a bridge be painted bright orange instead of gray? What is happening in the water underneath? How is crossing a bridge different from going through a tunnel? Where would you go if you drove all the way across?
