Taj Mahal Coloring Page
Ways to Use This Coloring Page
Simple ideas for using this printable at home, school, libraries, or quiet creative time.
The Taj Mahal sits at the end of a long reflecting pool, framed by four minarets and neat lines of trees. It was built from white marble by the emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his wife Mumtaz Mahal, and every side of the building mirrors the others exactly.
Fold a sheet of paper in half, draw half a dome and half a tower against the fold, then cut and open it into a perfectly matched building. Lay a mirror along the fold line and watch the halves complete each other.
Grounded in Harvard's serve and return research
- Cover the left half of the building with your hand. Can you describe the half you cannot see?
- What are the four tall thin towers at the corners for?
- What does the water in front add to the picture?
- Why would someone build something this grand in memory of one person?
- What would you notice first if you stood at the end of that path?
