Geometric Sailboat Coloring Page
Ways to Use This Coloring Page
Simple ideas for using this printable at home, school, libraries, or quiet creative time.
A geometric sailboat scene with triangular sails, a sturdy hull, waves, clouds, sun, and a distant lighthouse or island.
Wind and sail experiment: place a piece of cardboard or a folded paper triangle in a shallow bin of water. Blow gently on the sail and watch the boat move. Try changing the angle of the sail - straight, tilted left, tilted right - and observe how the direction changes. Then color the sails on the page and talk about which sail shape would catch the most wind.
Grounded in Harvard's serve and return research
What shapes can you find in the sails, boat, and waves? How does wind help a sailboat move? What clues show the water is calm or wavy?
